Girl X Sun-Terasene is another developed by the Sleeping Museum, the maker of the Death Palette game. The game is developed with Unity engine and is available to play in mobile through google play store. The games was released back in May 2018, but it has earned more attention recently following another update that translated the game in English, somewhat the same case with Death Palette. The game has been downloaded for over 50.000 times and it weighs around 30 MB, so its indeed a light game for your device. The game can be considered as one of the story based adventure/single player platformer (?) game, although its not that kind of hard/more common action.
The Story
It started off with a girl who is taking a walk at night away from a huge castle. What makes it unique is that the girl is carrying an umbrella. We are then told of her condition, that she can't make contact with sunlight as it may harm her, hence the umbrella. But why is she taking an umbrella at night? It's because she's being chased by demons, who wish nothing but for her to return to the castle. We are then shown the character we'll be playing, it's a sun! This sun will protect her from the waves of demons and monsters who may disturb her journey. It's in this long and exciting journey we will then learn of her reason to embark upon this quest even as she is being chased by countless demons.
The Gameplay
The gameplay mechanic of this game is very fun and adds up to the excitement I had while playing it. As I mentioned before, the main character of this game is the sun, so for the rest of the game we'll be playing as it. Through out the game, out main objective is to protect the girl from the demons by using out limited sunlight. As the journey progresses, we'll need to be prepared to take down more and more demons, not to mention that they are also getting stronger. In this case, powerups are available for purchase, through the in game currency (which isn't hard to earn) or real money.
The art style the game is going with is nice, as it's similar to The Sleeping Museum's previous game I played. The music is another thing that adds up to the enjoyable experience I had. It really fits in well as the levels gets harder and harder.
Overall Thought
From all the components I mentioned before, from the story to the music, I would give this game a solid 9 out of 10. The story that works as the base of the game is written well and how its being told is also superb. Another plus is that I encountered zero bugs in the game, so yeah, well done Sleeping Museum! Can't wait for your next work!
