A Damsel in Distress: A Lost Smiles and Strange Circus Game Review

How has it been you all? Hopefully it's been fine! Here, I'm bringing to you another writing of mine, which obviously is another game review.

Lost Smiles and Strange Circus is a game developed by SEEC Inc. (Which I believe my be the parent company of ESC-APE, the publisher of Tasokare Hotel & other visual novel adventure games) and was released back in October 2017. The game can be played in mobile through the Play Store and it weighs around 40MB, making it somewhat light. The game can be considered as a story based tycoon game, where it is required for you to build/upgrade things to advance through the story. It is sure a new type of game for me, but again, it sure is good to feel something new once in a while.  Now, let's get into its aspects!

The Story

Noah's new friends in the strange realm

The game begins with a cutscene, telling a story of a girl, named Noah, who lives her live in the town soaked in loneliness. With neither parents nor friends to fill the void, she's no longer capable of showing any emotions, both laughter and cries. In an unfortunate night, her life takes the turn for the worse as she was cornered by a kidnapper. Seeing how bad the situation was, Noah decided to jump into the darkness, a realm apart from hers where no human should not enter. Upon her entrance, she is welcomed by a masked man, who later introduced himself as Oddman and that he runs a circus in the realm, providing entertainment through attractions performed by its odd performers. In the realm, Noah will go through many events, events that would change her emotionally  and events that will bring to her the truth of her past.

The Gameplay

As I said before, the game is one of story based tycoon game, meaning there are things you need to look after and upgrade. In this case, the things are the attractions, where you'll have to upgrade and unlock them all to unlock photo of memories (pictures showing interaction between Noah and the performers). You need to collect them all if you were to get the ending. This part of the game gets annoying at least in my experience, as it took me days to obtain the last photo of memories. You'll need to open the game often to increase of your chance in getting them. Like other games of the genre, we also have to do a lot of tapping, yup! You'll need to do it thousands of times to unlock items in the inventory that would support the performers and your walkthrough overall.

The game's visuals are nice! I like the art style, reminds me of those from children storybooks which I found neat. The same goes for the theme, which is rather soothing and distracted me from the dullness from the non-stop tapping I did.

Overall Thought

Playing this game was a new experience, as I usually play story based RPG or other adventure games most of the time. The game, at least from my experience, is fine. I would give it a 6.5 out of 10. The story is nice, especially towards the end but how its delivered, through this tycoon type of game just doesn't work well to me. The visuals and themes really did a good job in lifting up the downs, but still, it could have been better. Speaking strictly on the game's genre, for what it is, I think it was fine. So yeah, if you wish to see the game for yourself then go ahead, don't let my review taint your judgement over it.

Re-coloring the grey spaces: A "Lilac and Her Light" Game Review

Howdy folks! How is it all going? Hopefully good. So I recently managed to set aside some time to complete a game (as if I never have time for it XD), and write a review of it. This time, its going to be a brief review of a game I finished in less than an hour. This is a review of Lilac and Her Light! Lilac and Her Light is a game developed by Npckc and was released back in October 2018. Its a story based pixelated game(one of my favorite types!) or you can say that its an RPG/Role playing games. You can download it through the Play Store or the developer's website (I'll drop the link below later). The game is pretty small, only around 16 Mb, meaning its practically accessible with phones nowadays.  The Story At the start, we will find ourselves playing as a girl, named Lilac, who lives in an extraordinary grey house, in which every house hold items and Lilac herself are also grey. We soon learn that she has an odd condition where everything that made contact with her would los...

New Hobby : The Art of Toy Photography

Most people still think that the only thing toy collectors do to their toys is simply as an ornament. A piece that only acts merely for display purposes, but the current stigma is actually wrong! Truth is there are tons of stuff you can do with your toys, the one I'm putting on the menu now is an art called Toy Photography. Toy photography is just another form of photography, but it specifies in using toys as the subject. It can be done both indoor and outdoor, even underwater as long as you have the right equipment. It also uses the same equipment as the usual photography with an exception of the toy's support utilities (Figure stands, dioramas, extra lighting, etc). To me, it's a perfect activity for toy collectors including me as a way to put your toys in action! From many professional toy photographers I know, there are 3 main points of toy photography, they are: 1. Bringing the toys to life Most of the toy shots I've seen are so good they manage to chan...

Giving company on a long lonely trip! A Terasene-Girl X Sun Game Review

Girl X Sun-Terasene is another developed by the Sleeping Museum, the maker of the Death Palette game. The game is developed with Unity engine and is available to play in mobile through google play store. The games was released back in May 2018, but it has earned more attention recently following another update that translated the game in English, somewhat the same case with Death Palette. The game has been downloaded for over 50.000 times and it weighs around 30 MB, so its indeed a light game for your device. The game can be considered as one of the story based adventure/single player platformer (?) game, although its not that kind of hard/more common action.  The Story It started off with a girl who is taking a walk at night away from a huge castle. What makes it unique is that the girl is carrying an umbrella. We are then told of her condition, that she can't make contact with sunlight as it may harm her, hence the umbrella. But why is she taking an umbrella at night? It's be...
