A journey down the memory lane! Lucid Dream Adventure review

Hey, there fellow readers! It sure has been a while since my last post, but please bear with me as the senior year has been quite rough. Gotta prepare things for the university, national exam, and tons of other stuff. So here I am with a post to fill this young blog, this time, it's another game review!

So one time, I was scrolling down the play store when I accidentally found this game. I was excited to try it, especially once I see some previews of it, considering it's a mix of point & click game with an RPG style to it. So here we go!

The game was made by Dali Games, an Indie developer who made it as a finalist in 2019 google play's Indie developers award. The game was released in early 2019 and has gotten many positive feedbacks from the players.

Storyline:

The game begins with a girl called Lucy, who lives with her mother after her father died. They live in a small broken house, with a gloomy interior to it. Every day she spends her time rolling in her wheelchair (she can't walk) with her mom. But lately, her mother has been acting very strange. She hasn't slept for quite some times and she started to spend all her days just doing chores in silence. This makes Lucy sad and worried over her mom. She later discovered that her mom has been getting a series of nightmares, lucid dreams. She is very confused about how to help her mother until one faithful night...

One night she will attempt an act to gain her mother's attention, here all you need to do is to gather things to boil the cattle, so it will make some noise. But sadly, her action doesn't bring any attention, as her mother just keeps on doing the chores. Afterward, Lucy will return to her bedroom and you just have to gather some dreamcatchers so you can hang them on the window. Just follow the clues given around you! After that, a kite will appear at the window, then you just need to grab it and it will take you to another chapter and another place.

  • Li'l trivia: If you look closely at one of Lucy's drawing, you'll see a drawing of her father. By the looks of it, I can conclude that her father was a soldier who died in a battle.
From there, the kite will take you to a row of rooftops. There a miracle happens as Lucy can actually walk there(But thinking about it, It's actually just a dream, a lucid dream). There you will be facing a puzzle, a unique puzzle indeed. Basically, you will meet the moon who will ask you for help to remove a fallen satellite that landed on one of his eyes. You'll use the clouds and the steams to remove the object.

After you got rid of the object, the moon will take you to a dream planet. A planet he believes where the dream master rests on his eternal sleep. There you'll solve some puzzle and afterward, you'll wake the dream master out of his sleep. He then asked you to sign a contract, for her not to stop searching the nightmare that has been haunting her mother. Later on, Lucy agreed to this and she wakened up from her sleep.

Once Lucy signs the contract, she will soon be  awaken from her sleep by her mom. After that, both of them will visit the an old cemetery, in which her father was buried. There you can see the ambiance, how sad Lucy and her mother was after her father's death.

Back in her room, Lucy will reassemble her mother’s mirror and then you’ll just have to stick the oneicromancer’s drawing on it. After that, darkness will consume most parts of the room, and from the shadow, The oneicromancer will appear to remind Lucy of the journey ahead. He will lead you to another realm, a unique one, not to mention peculiar. Most of the time, you will be solving puzzles her and there until you meet the dream predator. The predator was once the king of the realm, but after he lost his sight, he decided to descend below the radar, he hides and simply keeps himself alive by using his magnetic ears to attract metallic dreams. Once you give him an eye (the one you got from the owl statue) he will ask you to leave, but before that he will give you his magnetic ears, which you will use in another puzzle.

But just at the verge of the game, where the hypes have gathered so high, the developers decided to stop the 1st episode here, with a pop-up saying “to continue Lucy’s journey you can play the 2nd episode! Available in google play store”. So guess that’s all for the 1st episode.

But the story is not over yet! There are still 2 more episodes to go(unfortunately I haven't got the chance to play them), for the ratings, I give the game a solid 8.5 out of 10! Both gameplay and storyline is just magnificent! Can't wait to play the next games!

Seems like that's all for now. Have a good you all!

Re-coloring the grey spaces: A "Lilac and Her Light" Game Review

Howdy folks! How is it all going? Hopefully good. So I recently managed to set aside some time to complete a game (as if I never have time for it XD), and write a review of it. This time, its going to be a brief review of a game I finished in less than an hour. This is a review of Lilac and Her Light! Lilac and Her Light is a game developed by Npckc and was released back in October 2018. Its a story based pixelated game(one of my favorite types!) or you can say that its an RPG/Role playing games. You can download it through the Play Store or the developer's website (I'll drop the link below later). The game is pretty small, only around 16 Mb, meaning its practically accessible with phones nowadays.  The Story At the start, we will find ourselves playing as a girl, named Lilac, who lives in an extraordinary grey house, in which every house hold items and Lilac herself are also grey. We soon learn that she has an odd condition where everything that made contact with her would los

Working on a Terrific Masterpiece! A Death Palette Game Review

Howdy, folks! It's me again, the author of this lonely blog. these past weeks have been filled with semester breaks, something that I truly enjoy after all the hustle in the 2nd semester. In that break, I have played many games, some of which I'll review and bring here. Now, let's get into one of them, the menu for today will be a review of Death Palette. Enjoy! Death Palette is a puzzle & story based game with horror elements to it. The game was developed by Sleeping museum, an indie developer based in Japan, and was made available in google Play Store in February 2020. The game has been around for some time but it was only starting to get attention after its latest update, one that brought an English translation to it. Hence, allowing more people to experience the game. The game weighs around 50 MB, quite light in my opinion. With its introduction out of the way, let's dive into its parts! The Story The game tells a story of a beginner painter, who was given an un

In Search of a Bird's Family: A Grayland Game Review

Hello and back again with me. Yes, it hasn't been long after my last post and if you're thinking why, the answer is quite simple. As for now, I'm trying to improve my writing, both in terms of quality and as a habit, and I figured that this activity may be a suitable means of doing it(and hey! Another legit reason to play games!). Alright enough with the background, and let's get into this game! Its a game review of none other than Grayland. Grayland is a 2D adventure game developed and published by 1DER Entertainment back in December 2019. This unity powered game is available to play on both pc and mobile experience. This game doesn't take up much space as it only weighs around 50 MB.  Story The game begins with a cutscene showing some hunters who just caught a bird nest, complete with the eggs and the bird. After they left, we will see another bird, previously shot down by the hunters, getting back up and in pursue of its family. Along the way, we will see how mes
